Making it easy - for your clients and future clients
Well it's Sunday and time for a Re-Blog party, now to share a few gems that I have been collecting this week, I hope you enjoy them and stop by the original posters blog to leave them a supportive comment.
Have a Great Week!
Have you noticed how difficult it can be to leave a comment on some blog posts?
They want a user name, they want a password... and then they say "Oh no, that's not the right one." Or "That email is already in the system, choose something else."
I don't know how many times in the past months I've tried to leave a comment on a blog, only to find that it's Disqus (is that how you spell it?). No way can I get in there. Other people must have figured out the secret formula, because there are comments, but it sure doesn't like me.
There are others that do the same thing - you have to work to comment. I don't know about you, but even if I write down every password (because some sites won't accept "my usual") I'm not about to go dig through my list of passwords just to leave a comment. It's not worth my time.
I know, as marketers we want to leave comments, but after we work to get in somewhere, there's no guarantee that it's a site that allows us to leave our URL's.
Doesn't making it difficult for visitors to comment defeat the purpose of having a blog?
I think so. It prevents people from interacting with you, and thus getting acquainted. In addition, it leaves a sour feeling. I go away thinking "Well, phooey on you."
As marketers, we should all be making it easy for our prospects to know us and to love us - we should NEVER make it difficult for them to communicate with us.
