Our government does it best to protect the interests of its citizens. One move in that disrection is the national do not call list. Prior to its enactment I, like most people, received a few annoying calls per month. After registering for the protection the law intended to provide, only those who were performing a survey or political calls were allowed. Good for the citizens.
Not so fast. The rate of annoying calls went up. Did I sign up for the national feel free to solicit list? Enforcement is a joke. These robo-calling operations block the incoming call number and dial for dollars.
The latest daily call is from someone claiming to save me money if I refinance my freddie mac or fannie mae mortgage. I need to call immediately to take advantage of the opportunity. Give me a break and quit calling! I do not answer the phone when caller ID says "number not provided!"
I should be mad but then again I remind myself "it is government work!" Then I press delete on the answering machine! Wish I could press delete for some of the elected officials in Washington! Enjoy your day!
