Baldwin County has become famous! Since its establishment in 1809, ten years before Alabama became a state, Baldwin County has remained on the low key. Not much attention has been drawn to our area in the past until last year when we had THREE big movies filmed right here in our city as well as the TV series, “Sweet Home Alabama”, which is comparable to the attention-gripping shows, “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”.

The residents of our community have remained in a star-stricken state over the past several months as popular actors and actresses such as Nicolas Cage, Bruce Willis, and Kate Bosworth have visited Baldwin and Mobile Counties during the production of their new movies.

Much of “Tokarev”, which will feature Nicolas Cage, was filmed in the downtown Mobile area where many Mobile residents had a chance to meet the famous actor. “Tokarev” is an American action crime thriller film directed by Paco Cabezas and written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller. The film is set to premiere this year.

About four months after the “Tokarev” crew left our area, another high-profile action thriller came to town. “The Prince” began filming in Mobile at the beginning of December. This film will feature Bruce Willis, John Cusack, and famous rapper, 50-Cent, along with many others. “The Prince” should also premiere sometime this year.
