I Love Winters in Phoenix!

I love winters in Phoenix! Thunderbird Mountain

Charlie and I started the day off with a hike up Thunderbird Mountain in the Northwest Valley.  It’s one of our favorite things to do!  Charlie (all 12 lbs. of him) is happy to pull my butt (weight not to be revealed) up the mountain.  Most of the other hikers on the mountain are so cheerful and friendly.  Nary a hiker goes by that doesn’t say, “good morning!”

Once atop the mountain, one can see for miles across the Valley.   Immediately north are sprawling manors where one can see how the other half lives.  To the east are mountain views.  To the south is the Arrowhead Lakes Community, a highly sought after residential area.  In the distance, University of Phoenix Stadium and South Mountain are in eye sight.  Finally, immediately to the west is Mountain Ridge High School.  All is so calm and peaceful from up there.

Once we’ve caught our breath, there’s a slight bounce to our step as we happily descend down the mountain and back into reality.   We’ve accomplished exercise and serenity, all while enjoying our 50-degree Arizona winter morning weather.  (Hey!  I’ve gotta brag while I can.  Summer is a mere 5 months away!)

Hi Jana. Sounds like a great start to the day. Nashville is a little more uncertain for weather but today we're looking at close to 60! Tomorrow, not so much.
