Ok, I first want to apologize to all the local skiers and riders in the Park City area, but facts are facts. People come here for the winters but stay for the summers. Even though this winter has been such a spectacular event that Stien Erickson, on our local radio station's "Randy Barton Show" last week, commented that this has been the most snow he has seen in Park City since he arrived in 1969. Amazing! But with spring making her debut this week I thought I would look forward to mother nature giving up her grip on our winter wonderland and instead focus on basking in sweet mountain sunshine.
But I am regressing - today I want to comment on my favorite Park City institution - Mountain Town Stages! Music in the mountains! When I first came back to Utah and moved up to Park City I was overjoyed to find music in the air. Free concerts at intimate settings ranging from the Town Lift to Woodenshoe Park in Peoa!

This year Mountain Town Stages is moving back to their roots. After MTS founder Randy Barton stepped down from the leadership of the organization after the 2006 Cow Ballet - the local music seemed to take a back seat as the new director tried to take MTS to a different level. Well happy days are here again! Jack Walzer is now the new president of MTS and hopes are high that local music will once again ring in the mountain air.
Jack and his wife, local REALTOR® Kari Del Hayes are now part of the Board of Trustees and according to this Park Record article confident that this summer will ring with music.
