Ask An Ambassador: Are We There Yet?
And the answer is…..we’re getting there! By now we’ve all become accustomed to the site changes here at ActiveRain. (or perhaps you haven’t… if so, please take it up with anyone not named Kathy Streib.)
Several weeks ago, I wrote a post summarizing what Bob Stewart had related to me regarding certain bumps and jags in the ActiveRain road.
And, as you can predict, this post raised some additional questions about changes to the site. I wrote Bob and with his permission, I’m sharing his responses.
1. The Photo Editor
In a nutshell, once uploaded there it stays! Your most recent uploads will be at the top of the photo editor.
2. The Gold Star!
It will return, although when Bob does not know. The Gold Star will replace the “Suggest” button if the post is featured. So be patient grasshoppers…. (Dick - is it time for a Sensei Grasshopper challenge?)
3. The Draft Issue
For those of us who write their posts in “Draft” mode in advance of their “Publish” date, hopefully the “Draft Issue” should be fixed in the next release which should take place next week.
Why is this important? As it is now, if you write your post in draft and publish at a later date, your post will show up in the regular blogroll when it is published, however, if someone is searching for the your post in their “Following” blogroll, your post may be at the bottom of that blogroll based on the “draft” date.
4. Reblogging
YEA! Reblogging should return to what it previously was…. the link will take the reader to the author’s postand you will be able to disable comments.
If you look around, there have been several members who have posted workarounds for some of the bumps in the road. And just be patient.
Per Bob:
“ We had a slight lull in our development schedule because of the holidays and then also because our entire company moved offices. We should be back to releasing something every three weeks now and I think next week is a big drop with tons of bug fixes.”
So, in answer to your questions… we’re almost there…. just hold on!
