A real estate agent second, always a mom first

By
Real Estate Agent with Russell & Jeffcoat

On January 5th of this year I gave birth to our second baby boy, Jacob Ryan Buol. He is a beautiful, sweet healthy baby and we are so proud of him. However, I was not fully prepared for how drastically things would change going from one child to two. Just running to the store has become ten times harder! When Bailey was a baby and still in his baby car seat I could still go grocery shopping. Now, Bailey sits in the front and the car seat takes up the whole basket! So unless I am only going for a few things there is no point.

At first, my mother-in-law was not comfortable taking both boys at the same time. She has her own son (he is 24 but has a severe form of autism) and it was like taking care of three children all at once. So, I started taking Jacob to work with me. He sits in classes with me, works on the computer with me, and sits by my desk while I work. I am so grateful that I have the kind of job (and a great office) that allows me to do this. I love my kids so much which is why they always come first. However, I am determined to get my real estate career back up and running. And if I have to do it with a baby in my arms, then so be it!

We have kids that come into our office during the day as well.  Their is special parking at our office that leads directly to the door where our office manager sits.  I can park, walk in about 10 feet to pick up mail, etc.   My 2 year old has sat through our office meetings before with a ear infection:)   That is may day, flexibility!

I have a 3 year old, and I remember how much easier it was when I could carry him in the carrier, oh I miss those days:) But he comes in the office with me sometimes, everyone is always really nice to him. I'm with you Danielle, I'm determined to be successful in real estate and being a mom! Best wishes!

Good for you ~ you're kids and family first before career.  We are lucky in a sense that our career allows us the flexibility to juggle work and family all at the same time.  By the way, congratulations on the 2nd baby!  They are both adorable!

Family always comefirst for me. Especially my 3 1/2 year old son.  My office has been so great to allow him for meetings and trainings. I love taking him with me. but sometimes, with my sever back pain, I can not . So those are the days , I feel terrible without any help.

Danielle, business will be there, but the time we spent with kids is more precious.
