Yes, Yes, Yes, No ... What?
Isn't that what someone says when they read a bunch of comments of support for a blog topic and then read one that counters the bloggers point of view? Don't be dismayed, here on Activerain, it is encouraged according the our Weltanschauung! On Activerain, Weltanschauung is defined as the guiding principles and philosophy of an organization; a world view.
Guiding Principle #7 states:
We encourage dissenting and contrarian points of view because
our industry is better served by continually examining the status quo.
Challenging conventional wisdom is often essential for the evolution
of our industry and the development of new opportunities.
I believe our founding fathers would probably agree wholeheartedly with Activerain on this guiding principle. I know that I do. In fact, on reading the other guiding principles of the Weltanschauung, I had to think a little about guiding principle # 2:
We Believe that real estate professionals will thrive if
they demonstrate their local market expertise.
With ever greater access to listings, local knowledge is now the key differentiator.
When the Weltanschauung was written guiding principle #2 was probably an innovative thought. Yes, I do agree that being a local market expert is a key principle to success in real estate, only that statement may have been written back before e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e was a local expert. So what is next? Where do we go from here? What are your thoughts on the topic? Also, what are your thoughts about the Weltanschauung? Do you have a favorite guiding principle?
Do you know where to find the Weltanschauung?
