A little dose of inspiration is sometimes in order.  Today I had an incredible day.  Very busy and very productive.  Funny thing I didn't feel that way just a few days ago.

Now the agents in my office are working hard, harder than ever before but I see the discouragement, the disappointment and the unknown, you can't miss it's written all over their face.

I sometimes have days where I wonder why bother? Who cares? They don't...Why should I?

But for some reason I keep plugging away. I keep learning...and fighting and trying new ways. One of the things I learned early in life is that nothing ever comes free.

You have to work...you have to fight and you have to believe.

What if our U.S. troops took the stand why bother?

Who Cares? They don't...Why should I?

If you want to continue to work sometimes you have to think like a soldier.  Right now across the nation..Real Estate Industry professionals are getting out of the business, some contemplating..more will.  If you want a fighting chance...there are some things you can do...We are not that different from soldiers...read below and replace words you will understand what I mean.

  • I believe that Professionals REALTORS continually train regardless of how much they think they know
  • I believe you have to get into the fight...that means work hard and prospect keep in mind everyone you talk to could be your customer  someday.
  • I believe you should participate in your local board..and get to know your fellow REALTOR!
  • Dress appropriately every single day as if you were attending a closing!
  • I believe we should price properties properly and walk away from the ones that won't!
  • I believe we need to to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!
  • I have to believe at the end of 2008 there will be fewer REALTORS, many won't survive the market.

But everyday our troops face more...every thought...idea and calculation counts.  Just being slightly off the mark..could in fact be the cause of their last breath.  Keep your real estate career alive...F-I-G-H-T!

Very encouraging post, Midori. Without a goal we will perish or run aimlessly around with nothing to sustain us. I honestly know times are hard but I also see agents just not working hard. It was too easy for too long, now it takes effort and thinking outside the box. Today can be the first day of the rest of your life if you just believe it is.

Go Girl, Good Cheer for the agents that will be here next year! The ones who come to take easy profits will go away, the agents who know how to work will have plenty of sales to come, because they know that it takes a good day of work to produce clients and relationships that produce future sales.

Good morning.  I too believe in what I am doing, and am undaunted.  My checking account, on the other hand, is showing signs of weakness!  Thank you for the pep talk.

So true, Midori. Times are tough, so should we be. I am in that fiery mode," Lead, follow, or get out of the way!" -some important guy said that I just don't remember who.

Mary-you are right...but I think it applies to this year as well...The number of agents MUST dwindle down and those that don't work will fall by the waste side!
