Buyers and Sellers are Internet savvy and well informed consumers, blogging is a great way to share ideas amongst our colleagues, give and receive referrals and promote our business. Those agents who are not using these tools are missing out on some outstanding opportunities as your new listing certainly proves.

I've heard the same stories about blogging being a 'waste of time' and 'how can that benefit your business'. Well, it only seemed obvious to me that the more you get out in front of people, the more they can remember you and contact you. It may not take the place of local advertising and those pricey magazines, but every little bit helps. Great listing, too, hhmmmm...... do you suppose blogs might work?? ....lol.....
That's great, the key is do your best so you'll know if it works or not and give it time. Blogs are there for anyone who wants to search for that information. That is why they are so useful.
I've never had anyone tell me they found me on Active Rain, but I have recently had two buyers say they "found me on the internet" and believed that I was a local expert in their area of interest...an area that I frequently blog about. I am an AR addict, more so now than ever!

Posting on this community and Localism give you great exposure on Google and that can only mean more contacts and more business. I have two buyers coming in the next four days that fund me on the Internet and one is looking at one of my two listings that were from my Internet presence. It works.

I'm new to AR, but already find it amazing that when I enter my own name and the words "real estate" my AR profile comes right up. Isn't that awesome? I have my own websites and an independent blog, but must not be doing something right with the search engines. Clearly AR is. Congrats to you, and here's hoping that same happens to me :)

Congratulations! I guess the next thing to wonder is what her search term was on google or yahoo when she found you. It's great to hear stories like yours. I love blogging and telling people about my area, but its an even greater incentive to think that I can get business from it!
