Dunedin Florida's beautiful Hammock Park and the poor work that has been completed by city employees is something that needs to be addressed! This is one of my favorite little local parks to take walks in and a couple of months ago we saw city employees out replacing slats on the boardwalk.
I was extremely disappointed when we returned this weekend to find the old slats simply discarded next to the repaired boardwalk. Nails are sticking up waiting for little boys playing in the area or wild animals to walk on. This is a prime example of city employees doing poor work. Is it too much to ask that they haul the old boards full of rusty nails away when their work is complete.
It makes me wonder who is in charge of this work? Is it subcontracted out to some local company that is somebody's cousin or is it simply (as I suspect) city employees not doing their job correctly? Whatever the case, it needs to be addressed since this is really inexcusable work! This is not something I would expect to find in Dunedin Florida, so I have sent emails to the appropriate city park's offices to request more information on why this situation exists in our lovely Hammock Park. There will be follow up information coming!
