Don't Forget to Save the Date for the Lions Fishing Contest!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Marshall Enterprises

The Annual Lions Fishing Contest is in its 16th year already.  There will be families aplenty on Beebe Lake this year.  And, we know the ice is FROZEN!

Contests: $100 for first prize, $75 for second and $50 for third in each fish category: northern, bass, crappie and sunfish!  Judged by weight in any one class.  All prizes will be awarded.

Plus there will be door prizes for both adults and children.  There will also be a separate winter sport raffle that offers a chance to win a Vexilar FL-20 fish finder (which would be handy to have before the contest!), a portable fish house and many gift certificates.

Cost for a ticket to fish is $5 for ages 16 and under and $10 foe 17 and older. Each ticket gets you one hole and enters you into the door prize drawing.    The Winter Sports Raffle tickets can be purchased separately at $5 each and all tickets can be found at St. Michael Hardware Hank and also at Dehmer’s Meats in St. Michael.

The KRWC Road Show will be on hand to play music and sponsor games!  Lunch and concessions will also be available, but you can also bring food and drink on your own.

The event will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2014 from Noon to 3 pm.  Let’s hope the fish show up at that time!  Call Joe Dehmer if you need more information at 763-497-2455.

Howdy and evening Ron

Ron my AR friend, the Lions sure do a lot of mighty fine work! This sure is an outstanding event which they hold that the whole family can take part in. Those sure are not at all bad ticket prices in order to be a part and show support to a mighty fine organization.

Happiness sure is Homemade
Have a good one

No fishing for me until spring arrives.  But you did remind me about a "save the date" item I need to handle soon.

If you are there...take pictures. I want to see a big fish. It's been a while for me. I know how cold you guys are...so there is no doubt about the ice thickness. LOL My dad lives just below you in Iowa. I got a weather report tonight.

Hi Ron -- I haven't fished since I was a kid and the idea of ice fishing isn't likely to be something I'm going to try anytime soon.   That said, I'm sure this type of event is going to be a big draw -- as Debbie suggested, if you go, you definitely need to make sure you have your camera(and appropriate clothing).

We will have to see what the weather brings on Saturday.  I have some ice "fishing" to do on our roof.  There are some pretty big icicles around here!

I was up north looking for northern and walleye.  How did they end up?  Do they publish the winners in the local paper?

That weekend was bitterly cold...as all of them have been lately.  I hope those who participated were dressed for the weather.

It was so cold that day, that the camera must have been frozen.  I got some great shots...at first, and then it quit.
