Monrovia has had a shift in our real estate market. Currently, only 64 properties are for sale (20 of them are in backup status), including 9 condos/townhomes (3 of those are in backup status). With such a tight inventory, it is hard to make a decision on which house to buy. Typically a high inventory creates for a better selection, and with that mindset, it is easier to miss a great deal!
A lovely Monrovia Home for Sale is 137 Norumbega Dr. This property has been lovingly restored without losing much of its original charm from 1888. This home is not for the faint of heart as it has multiple stairs and several levels. What makes this home so appealing to active people is its bedrooms being away from the entertaining area - a large family room connects to the back yard, making it an entertainers' delight. It even has a wonderful den that could be connected to the master suite via a balcony, or if you prefer, make this den your Zen zone!
This is one of the oldest homes in town, built in 1888. It was originally sold (right before the Real Estate bust of 1888) by W.N. Monroe, E. F. Spence, and John D. Bicknell to L. H. Field, who then turned around and sold it to Annette Nye. Mrs. Nye was one of the founders of the Saturday Afternoon Club, which became the Woman's Club and was a most influential group of women in Monrovia. This group of women has been credited with creating our library among many other great achievements. Ms. Nye is one of the few women mentioned in the "History of Monrovia" by John L. Wiley. - See more at: www.137norumbega.com
Property has many upgrades: Solar water heater system, 4 year old roof, new drain and waste vent system, new copper plumbing, newer electrical, new floors (carpet and wood), all new bathrooms, new appliances, newer a/c.
