I note with sorrow the passing of folk singer and activist Pete Seeger in New York at the age of 94.
Seeger was a noted song writer, folk singer, banjo player and passionate political citizen for more than seventy public years.
I enjoyed his music with the Weavers and as a solo act. He performed at colleges and small venues showing generations of kids that there was a great American brand of music and tradition that they might not get to hear on the radio. He provided his name and his voice to many social causes over the years - but he always entertained.
Perhaps my favorite Seeger song was "We've Got Tonight"
