The December 2013 single family home market summary as reported by the the Florida Realtors® for Brevard County, Florida continues to look positive when compared to the December 2012 single family detached home sales report.
Properties sold were up 23.8% in December 2013 with 724 homes sold versus December 2012's 585 (a 23.8% increase).
Cash sales were up 14.8%. The overall percentage of cash transactions remained about the same as December 2012 with about 42% (2013) and 44% in December 2012.
A good sign for buyers is the inventory climbed a little to 4.4 months vs. 4.2 months last December. While not a great deal higher, it is hopefully a sign some are deciding it is time to sell their Brevard County, Florida home and move up.
Median sales prices are up slightly to $129,000 vs. last December's $120,000. Unless one is in the market for a distressed property, the median sales price of $152,950 provides a realistic picture of the Brevard County, Florida single family home market in 2014.
