Penny,

Another great local feature.  Well done!

I like Hillsboro Street.  One of the quaint town main streets in the area.

Excellent post, great detail and I can tell you truely like Pittsboro. It sounds like a great, small growing town that is going to be even better with all the things coming to town. I have always liked North Carolina and wanted to visit, closest I have been so far is about a 15 minute layover on a flight to Florida, only had time to run and buy a Tarheels hat and run back to jump on the plane. Seeing these pictures and your description I need to go :-D.

Hey Penny - I have NEVER been to Pittsboro!  It seems so far away from me......You did an excellent job of highlighting it and showcasing it's charm!

Echo on the quality and presentation of the post.  2 thumbs up here.   Chatham County has exploded in terms of growth rate, so fast that the county had to put a moratorium on development.

Thanks for this lovely picture of Pittsboro!  I'm the General Manager of Chatham Marketplace and I can tell you that this town is wonderful. Beautiful scenery, great people and the coolest Co-op Grocery store around ;).  www.chathammarketplace.coop

Mike - There are definitely some more places in Pittsboro that are on my list to profile.  Thanks for stopping by!

Chris - It is a terrific town.  Folks shop here that live in a lot of surrounding areas of Chatham County, whether it's around Jordan Lake, Eli Whitney, or Silk Hope .

Leesa - It's much closer to Wake Forest than you might think!  Next time you come visit Jordan Lake, drive just a few minutes further, and enjoy lunch at The General Cafe or pick up some great food at the Chatham Marketplace and enjoy it on the veranda!

Sunny - The moratorium has limited future big subdivisions, at least for now.  But that makes this area that much more desirable.  There are homes on wooded acreage starting in the $250s, and new homes on smaller lots starting around $200K.   And there are homes well into the millions surrounding Jordan Lake.  So Chatham County really does have something for everyone!

Mary - Chatham Marketplace is terrific.  I love the sourdough bread!

Penny, Excellent localism post. Looks as if you put a lot of time and effort in to this one. The Carolina Brewery and Grill looks like a real fun place to go.

Michael - Thanks.  If you're ever in the area, come check it out, you'll be glad you did!
