Pardon Me, But Your Weltanschauung is Showing
By Michelle Carr-Crowe
When I first learned about ActiveRain as a blogging and social media site, I wasn’t surprised to learn I had to read about its Community Guidelines before starting to blog here.
However, I was surprised to be required to examine ActiveRain’s Weltanschauung.
While I’d seen that word before, my initial reaction to being required to review its Weltanschauung was, “Pardon Me, But Your Weltanschauung is Showing!” It’s one of those unusual multi-syllable words, not just because it’s German, but also because of that spell-check defying double-u near the end of the word.
Somehow Weltanschauung reminds me of epidermis or supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. (Perhaps someone should compose a song about ActiveRain’s Weltanschauung?)
Certainly, like most real estate agents and ActiveRain members, I see the value of each blogger contributing and sharing their local market expertise, behaving nicely, allowing for differences of opinion while treating each person with respect-even while disagreeing.
Being raised in a real estate family, to me #3 is at the heart of what we do here as bloggers at ActiveRain. I realize home ownership isn’t right for everyone-and when I meet with potential buyers I help them discover whether buying and owning a home is right for them now or in the future.
When I blog, sometimes I’m educating buyers and sellers about the Silicon Valley real estate market, market trends in the Cupertino Schools area, and changes in laws, loans and more. Sometimes I’m writing about something basic, such as “How do I know this is the right home?” or “Is now the right time to sell a home in San Jose?”
But it all comes back to believing and understanding #3 that home ownership is a positive force for social good.
3. We believe that home ownership is a positive force for social good. ActiveRain is committed to empowering real estate professionals so they can help people achieve the dream of home ownership.
Weltanschauung:
the guiding principles and philosophy of an organization; a world view
Thank you for reading “Pardon Me, But Your Weltanschauung is Showing!”
