Blackhawk is an unincorporated community between Danville and San Ramon located on the east side of San Francisco. Within the community there are seven distinct neighborhoods; the Country Club, Silveroak, Tennis Villas, Silver Maple, Saddleback, Oakridge and Hidden Oaks.
Black Hawk was originally established in 1917 but in 1975, housing developments with over 4800 homes on 4200 acres really gave way to the development and settlement of the area.
The Blackhawk country club is one of the major landmarks in this community nestled at the base of Mount Diablo. Surrounded by luxurious residential neighborhoods, this community is known for its elaborate estate, golf course homes and larger lots.

The golf course itself was designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge which hosts the annual CVS pharmacy LPGA challenge. The Falls golf course, designed by Ted Robinson, winds through Country Club East and Blackhawk's Tennis Club, which includes 20 courts, a clubhouse and pro shop. In addition to several golf courses, Blackhawk also features a swim club with competition sized pool, locker rooms and instructional programs. The 25 acre sports and recreational center is perfect for basketball, outdoor volleyball, Olympic sized pools, sports fields, amphitheaters and children's playgrounds.
The Black Hawk Plaza is known for its luxurious and unique shopping experience which includes retail stores, multiple restaurants, a unique movie theater and two museums including the Blackhawk Museum. This museum is a nonprofit corporation established in 1988 offering a 70,000 ft.² architectural masterpiece showcasing automobiles and historical treasures. The Blackhawk Museum displays nearly 100 cars many of which are on loan from Museum friends in various parts of the world. Car collectors and enthusiasts alike love to visit the museum and make it a necessary stop when visiting.
Black Hawk Communities and Neighborhoods:
Hidden Oaks consists of over 200 homes which began construction in 1978. Most of the homes are on half-acre lots and this was one of the first community neighborhoods to be completed. Hidden Oaks price ranges are between $1 million and $2 million.
Saddleback was one of the second communities completed in Blackhawk and contain some of the most lavish and extravagant homes in the development. These homes sit on lots no less than 5 acres in size and range from $900,000-$3 million class.
Oakridge offers a variety of homes from 2000 to 3000 ft.² on large estates at the top of a private court. These homes range from around $700,000-$2 million plus.
Silver Maple is designed around one of the main Blackhawk country club golf courses. It consists of about 100 homes between 20 505,000 ft.² priced from $900,000 to $1.7 million.
Silveroak is an upscale condominium complex with homes ranging from 1500 to 2000 ft.² and offer two-story townhome style layouts priced from around $700,000.
The Tennis Club Villas are the more modest of the extravagant properties in Blackhawk having less than 2500 ft.² of living space, two-bedroom layouts and lots under 7000 ft.². These home start around $600,000.
