How old is the septic system? The answer from the listing agent and the seller may not be known,

The tax records said the house was 100 years old. but we knew that was a mistake. Not everything you read is true.

When selling a property with a septic system, we need to know the history. Make sure the buyer is educated. Is there a drain field? Is the septic tank concrete or metal? When was it last serviced? When was it last pumped? Know what can and cannot go into a septic system.

When you list or sell a home you should know the following

Where the system is located?

The history and the date of the last pumping

My master plumber is an expert on septic systems. He does his homework. He asks the right questions. Instead of relying on the "unknown" answers from the listing agent, the Baltimore County Health Department is called and he  will have the records of when the septic was installed or replaced, the size and type of container.

So remember when someone asks Does Size Matter.

Size And Age And Information Does Matter?

In Baltimore, you will know where to go for an informed answer. Go to an expert like a master plumber.

For more questions and information this is a good resource.

Check out Baltimore County OSDS guide .

Baltimore Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability

This is where you can get information on the OSDS and have your questions answered.  Some master plumbers specialize in septic systems. Find the right one and let the experts do their job.

When it comes to OSDS, Size and age and information Does Matter.
