Narrative Clip Camera

How many times have we wished we had a photo of something happening right then? But by the time we get our camera out, or our phone out…the moment has passed.

Have your heard about the Narrative Clip Camera? You simply wear it, and it takes a 5 mega pixel photo every 30 seconds. It has a 8MB storage.  The battery life is about 2 days, and you simply plug it into your computer  to download the photos and to recharge.  The photos are stored through the Narrative site.  The Narrative Clip is $279, and the first year is free for photo storage, then it is $9 plus tax per month, starting year 2.

You simply take it off, stick it in a pocket if you want it to stop taking photos.  My question is…What would your thoughts be if the person sitting across the table from you at lunch was wearing one.  Would you feel violated in some way?  Have no problem with it? Would you want to know you were being photographed?  I am wanting to get some opinions on this.

Sherry - I hadn't heard of this. I wouldn't really care if it were only taking photos, although I would want to know if it were video.

Personally I like to know when I'm being photographed.  How else am I to give 'em my best angle?  I kid, but seriously....kinda seems creepy to me.

Kerrie-Of course I would want for when I am out and about. Would probably put it away while at a lunch....but then again...we take photos sometimes when we have a group get together.  I see most things while driving the car, and sometimes can't stop the car, or don't have time to go back. Wondering how it would do on a photo from the car. Can I get the picture of the side of a building or a sign I seen?  You have a bad angle?

I would love to see it working "in person" before spending the money on it.  But it is intriguing....

hmmm, don't know if I would like a camera taking photos all the time. I especially wouldn't want someone taking photos of me!   It might be good to use as in place of a monitor though for watching your house or office.

Sherry, I don't think I would like someone taking photo's without my knowledge, though I know if you're out in the real world you're probably on camera somewhere. But I do keep my flipcamera with me just in case something interesting comes up! I like Karen's suggestion of applying it to watching the house.

Hi Sherry,

I have to admit I'm with Kerrie..I think it is a little creepy!!! I would find it annoying and intrusive..maybe others don't mind..I'd prefer not!

Kat- Me too!

Karen- It would be good for that for sure!

Debbie-I agree, we probably are on camera's somewhere more than we know. But I don't do anything I wouldn't want anyone to see I guess. Many times I forget to get that photo of my plate of food before I dug in at a restuarant...and then think..drats... I could have blogged about that! I think 99% of our photo's could be trashed on a daily basis...but I have had some funny things happen at a lunch, especially when kids are involved!

I do agree if you are going to wear it at a lunch, you should let others know... if someone doesn't like it...remove it. Put it back on after you leave.

Dorie- I guess the whole intention of the camera isn't just photographing someone at lunch.  It is more for when we are out and running around. I think it would be awesome on a vacation, when we are out site seeing. Or even visiting a model home...you know we see some great decorating ideas!
