Getting Back to the Basics

Feng Shui teaches you, along with other spiritual practices that revisiting the basics is a great way to progress in the long run.  Sometimes we become so caught up in life that we forget about the fundamentals which bring us happiness.

I had this conversation with a friend the other day and we both agreed, It seems people really don't interact with each other as they used too, especially our younger generations (the tech age). It's rare to hold a conversation over the phone, these days it's either text or email. It's as if the art of conversation is slowly phasing out.

I have made an agreement with myself that I will attempt to call family, friends and clients more often then have a virtual conversation. I think one of the many reasons I love what I do is because of the one to one connection I have with my clients.  It's the simplicity of sharing and listening and just being in the presence of great company.

Nothing beats "real" conversation, whether over the phone or face-to-face, and I agree - the art of conversation seems to be getting taken over by technology.

Laura, there's nothing like have a cup of coffee and talking with my friends or laughing it up at a wine tasting.

Laura- we much be on the same page.  For my Vision Board, one of my goals is to make more phone calls to my friends.  Texting and Facebook are ok for quick messages but it can't compare to actually speaking with someone.

Good morning Laura. I never really quite sure what getting back to basics, but I hear the words spoken quite a bit. I don't think I have ever ventured to far away from what is basic.

Make it a great weekend!
