One of the nicest things about living in beautiful Loudoun County, Virginia, is the abundance of available recreation. From horse shows to baseball games, Loudoun is such a well rounded place to live. I just love living in a place where residents and visitors can see a local football game and then zip into a winery for a chance to sip Virginia's own finest. We are becoming the Napa Valley of the east and it sure is fun to check them off one at a time with friends. Some wineries are small, newer facilities next to the woods, others are housed in renovated barns, and still others, perched up high on the side of hills with breathtaking mountain scenery. Most hold fun events from festival family style get togethers to large weddings and events. Around here, ladies celebrate their birthdays going on a limo driven winery tour. Music, fun, education . . . it's all part of the wine scene. And now is a great time to cheer up, take in a few wineries, and beat the winter blues. Spring is on its way!
