Upstate Films in Rhinebeck is a venue where you can watch independent films; and films not screened by the general cinemas.  I remember when Philomena first came out,  I wanted to see it but could not find it except at Upstate Films .

This theatre is located in the heart of the Village of Rhinebeck, a doorstep away from Foster a well know Rhinebeck Restaurant.  So if you are staying at the Beekman Arms it is a very short walk.

Upstate Films got started in 1972 and screening of films have expanded seven days a week; here are the films presently offered.

Besides the Rhinebeck location, there is also an Upstate Films in Woodstock NY.  During the Woodstock Film Festival you can also catch screenings in the Rhinebeck location.
