I just couldn't bring myself to say "outside the box" after that damn IBM commercial...you know, the "Buzzword Bingo" one? Those commercials are so funny and on the money, it almost hurts.
That being said, many of you already know that I live outside the proverbial box because that's where I believe true progress is born. Progress takes on many forms, and very often the most simple idea is the most effective. Take a look at this website:
http://www.bigredrabbit.com
Notice these things that make the site extremely memorable:
- The big red rabbit with the "sold" sign
- The cartoon/caricatures of the broker and agent
- The "Fun Zone" with games that are all kid-friendly (and some are challenging for adults, too!)
The only one of these three things that is directly related to real estate is the "sold" sign the rabbit is holding. I don't know why there's a big red rabbit on the site, nor do I care. It works...it's memorable. Same goes for the caricatures, which I have seen done before and absolutely love. I'm a fan of anything like this that is guaranteed to put a smile on someone's face. Smiles most certainly make you memorable.
And then there's the "Fun Zone." Lots of games for kids and adults. Let's face it, what reason do your long term prospects have to visit your site if they're not doing anything in the near future? With games like these, you're giving them a reason and you just never know when a "Fun Zone" like this will come in handy when one of your prospects' children need their, um, energy redirected. You can be a hero and not even know it...until time to close:)
I personally enjoyed the big red rabbit in the boat cruising past the house on the water. I like a company, and a website, that has a sense of humor to it. Yes, real estate is a serious business, but let's have some fun with it! Thanks for the info!
