I just had a call from a potential homebuyer that came across my name (the internet is so amazing) and she was asking if there are any mortgage discounts available for Teachers as she works for the school district.

I didn't have a clue, and she did have a brief discussion with an LO who was unaware of any programs.

I did some quick searching and found this HUD program.... can anyone shed some light?  Have you been involved in this "Good Neighbor" program?  Thoughts?  Feedback?  Anything of interest I can pass on?

Thanks.

Rob - In the past, we've offered discount mortgages (on fees & interest rates) for organizations, kind of like doing a mortgage for a family member.  While I'm not familiar with any 'Good Neighbor' programs in Pa, I do know that it's volume marketing and exists.  Email me with any questions.

Rob, we used to have programs for teachers and civil servants but I don't think they're around anymore.  They had lower rates at the time, but now rates are so low that a discount is impossible.  They also had a 6% assist on conventional loans that usually had 3%. Not sure if they're still around.  I'll do some checking around for you tomorrow.

HUD may have programs from time to time, but it's up to the lenders to offer them.

Rob, check out the Good Neighbor Next Door program offered by HUD. It only helps if the teacher is willing to purchase a HUD house, but it is a good deal.

Time-Warner wasn't content on reporting one side of the news.  They
had to block others from getting the true story out.

If the media spent any time checking him out,
Hillary would be our nominee.
