Are you looking for something fun to do this weekend and you live in Katy or surrounding areas.? Maybe Wiener dog races and live horse racing will be just activity to provide some family entertainment. No worries as I am sure these Wiener Dogs are well cared for and not abused.

On Saturday February 8, 2013 Sam Houston Race Park is holding its 6TH Annual Wiener Dog races which has become a local family favorite. In addition, live horse racing will take place with the $50 K Spring Stakes being run.
The Gates will be open at 10:30 AM for simulcast and 6 PM for the horse racing.
Admission is fairly inexpensive as Adult age 13 or older are $7 per person; Seniors ( 62 and over) $4 per person and children ages 4-12 are $4 per child. As a special offer hot dogs will be $1. A Happy Hour with craft beer will cost $2 per beer from 4 - 6 PM. Food items will be priced at $3 after the races from 10:30PM until midnight.
I think the Wiener Dog races would be a blast to watch and cheer. Now if this was a Schnauzer Dog race and we entered our dog Duke someone from the family would have to hold food so he could see it, yell his name over and over again and be at the finish line or he would stand there at the start and get into a fight with a smaller dog. He likes bigger dogs. Small dogs not so much.
Sam houston Race Park is an easy drive from Katy as you can take Interstate I-10 to the Beltway 8 and head north like you were going to the main airport in Houston. Exit at the Race Park exit.
