This is a tree I use to go by often, then one day it was gone. It was not removed by the farmer but succumbed to weather condition. I still find myself looking for it. This reminded me of how my daughter use to rearrange my cabinets often and because of habit I would reach for something which was no longer in the same spot.
Oh that is sad, and yes, I know the feeling of having something rearranged and you still go through the motions of the old way.
Yes very sad, Had a hugh tree fall across our road a couple days ago from the rain.
Jennifer, Many trees have fallen in our region this week because of the snow and thousands of people are still without power.
Jennifer, I know your feeling well. There was a big leaning tree in a cornfield we would drive by on the way to Indy and always marvel that it was still standing. It has since been removed, and I miss it!
Sad when the things we grow accustomed to are gone...especially the people in our lives who represent strength and wisdom.
Jennifer, guess that tree had a long life, yet did not make it into this New Year, rather sad.
Another good reason to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments. We can always enjoy the fond memories when we have the photographs to share.
It's hard when we become accustomed to a sight and then it's gone. That's a good lesson to appreciate what we have while we have it.
Jennifer my Aunt use to live with me and my wife and she would rearrange things as well like your daughter and it use to drive my wife nuts .... LOL
Jennifer,
It looks like it was a great tree to drive past. Filled with lots of character. Hopefully something will make your drive exciting.
When these great old trees die, it is a sad day. I would still be looking for it, too....
