The luxury home market in Volusia and Flagler Counties - the $1 million-and-up-club is back!
Volusia County had a stronger rebound to 32 residential sales of a million dollars or more in 2013, the highest since 2007.
- In Volusia County, 94 homes and condos in the upper price ranges sold in 2007.
- In 2009, only 13 million Dollar + homes sold *
- The bottom was 2012 with only 9 millon Dollar + sales*
- In Flagler County, million Dollar + home and condo sales fell from 131 in 2006 to 44 in 2009 and bottomed out at only 4 sales in 2010. In 2012, Flagler had a rebound with 22 luxury sales (18 being condo's), 2013 a total of 7*
According to the Daytona Beach News Journal "The resurgence comes at a time when developers are moving forward on projects that could lift the area's image to more upscale heights. The projects include two $100-million-plus beachfront condo hotel projects, renovations of other large hotels, and the International Speedway Corporation's upgrading of Daytona International Speedway and plans to start a large mixed-use development, One Daytona, across the street from the Speedway."
All of the property sales on the "top-10 list" are on the water on the coastal side of the counties. Six of the sales are on the Atlantic Ocean, two are on the Halifax River (Intracoastal Waterway) and two are on the Indian River.
