Success-How do you define it?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Full Circle Property Management

So what does success mean to you and how do you measure it? Is it monetary, personal, business?

Recently I took a new position and thought I was doing well and at the end of the year analyzed the company numbers and realized that even though sales was up that profit was down since I was the leader. I was able to increase sales but not get a handle on expenses. So if I was hired to add sales then I should get a bonus, but if I was hired to run the company and make it profitable then I should be fired.

So what about you? Were you successful in 2013? Do you have a plan for 2014? How will you even know if you are successful without a plan and a way to measure success? So as I tell my students and employees-write it down, make a goal, and shoot for it otherwise you will never know when you get there.

Me? I guess I will look for a new job for 2014-maybe somewhere with no snow.

Come on down to Florida.  THe real estate market is flourishing here.

In businesss, I view success as 2 fold.  1 profitibility.  Obviously any busy has to make profit in the long-term.  2 longevity.  5 years from now is the model still going to be around.
