Sometimes I read books for inspiration...

With the amount of reading available to me, especially electronically, I can easily become sidetracked from my purpose. I am noted for never passing a bookshop without having time disappear as if by magic. I seem to have two readers with me most times, each with their own libraries of books I would like to get time to read. And now I notice I have other books beckoning me from my laptop.

Every so often I am struck by a title which leads to another title by the same author.

So it was with 100 ways to motivate yourself by Steve Chandler, followed by 100 ways to motivate others bythe same author (with Scott Richardson). Both books are in their third edition.

motivate

Lots of good content, with the author proving that he can't count (110 chapters in each book). Intriguing advice like "Kill your television"' "Run towards your fear", "Learn visioneering" and "Roar" keeps you up past your normal bedtime. With both books I find a need for a rainbow of hilighters.

I am sure that anyone could find points to pursue, to get them moving a little faster. I like for myself "motivation requires fire... fire needs fire to light it."

Proved to be an activity worth trading sleep for...

I too am a book worm and I don't like e-reading. I actually like to hold a book. If I hold a book I can lay on my side back or on my tummy.... oh heck who am I kidding! I can't lay on my tummy anymore.

Sussie - I'm not past gathering books wherever I can find them, but I slowly switched to e-readers because of their ability to hold so many books so unobtrusively. Harder to dog ear the pages though.

Larry, like Sussie like the real thing but in defense of e-books, so easy too have many subjects with easy access! Enjoy your day!

Larry... I am also like you when it comes to books, book stores and libraries. I can't get enough of them! Time flies when you find a good book. I recently saw a staircase made out of bookshelves. You would get excited about that too!

Patricia - Now that I have Scribd (the Netflix of the book world) as well, book potential has reached crisis. Stair cases and high shelves are a challenge - I usually end up pulling piles down on my head, before a lecture on waiting for help.

Larry, the staircase looked like a sculpture of art for the book lovers like yourself. I hope you never end up hurt with piles of books on your head. You're a great, great man and you'll always be at least 7 feet tall in my eyes! You're the greatest.
