OK, this is for information. I need help (yeah, I know, you all know that, LOL)...

I would like someone to explain to me how to see how you are ranked on google. I would like to know how you get ranked by google. I would like to know how to use specific words to be noticed by google. I would like to know how google monitor's what you write on google. AND, FINALLY...How google determines what is featured on the google site.

I read and read the most seasoned professionals talk about the AR-google connection and I (being self taught on the computer - yes I am admitting my age, even though I've had a computer of some sort since 1992) just need some information here.  I'm sure this will help me in my work and in my understanding of what many of you understand and write about.

I wish I was writing a blog about how this works instead of asking, but hey...I'll admit it...I only understand half (you know my cup is always half full) of these questions...I think...

With all of you on here who understand this, I'm hoping some of you will be so KIND as to provide some information for me.

THANK ANY OF YOU THAT RESPOND IN ADVANCE, IT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hey John,

Possibly, but how do you even see how google ranks you?  I posted a lot of questions here...

But thank's for your post!  :-)

Karen you go to Google and you act like a buyer.

Put in search terms that you want to be found under like:

Coral Springs Real Estate

Homes for sale in Coral Springs

Condo's for sale in Coral Springs

Moving to Coral Springs

Relocating to Coral Springs

blogs about Coral Springs

Schools in Coral Springs

any neighborhood in Coral Springs

Coral Springs MLS

Foreclosures in Coral Springs

Then you find where your blog or web site comes up. When I first started blogging I was on page 49, WAY to far down for anyone to find me. As I blogged both my web sites and blogs started to move up. I now am on pages 1-3 for all my terms.

As you blog about the different area's and use your key words in you posts, it will start to give you higher rankings. Join some SEO groups on AR and read from the experts, Laurie Manny, Karen George, Brad Carrol,

For instance, your post here is in the group crap, why? This could also be a members only post, The members only posts don't get indexed on Google.

Hope this helps.

Missy,

Good info.  I took it off crap. See I understand what you are saying, but I don't understand how to check to see my ranking re: "Karen you go to Google and you act like a buyer." What do you mean "a buyer" as in someone interested in buying real estate?

I'll look. I have tag's like you said above attached to myself, is that what you mean?

I like the way you say it.  My high school teacher always said, that ignorance is not bliss.  In fact, that's what I thought the slogan was until I got older.  This is a prime example of it not being bliss.

Larry,

You know, sometimes you just have to ask?  What a better place than here?

Karen, yes that is what I mean. Act like you are a buyer wanting to purchase a home in Coral Springs or find out about the market there.

How would you go about it?

Go to the Google Search

Type in the terms you want to be found under.

You will be brought to all the sites with that term, there are 10 spots on Google on each page. Count where you are for each search term.

Here is a post I wrote on it.

Missy,

I see, great post, I cannot believe you didn't get a star for that one! That is info that we "learning to be a seasoned agent" need to know.

Hey, I have an idea for a blog for you...how about teaching us how to put those listing's under our names like you have your's...now that's another thing I would like to know how to do!

Thank you so much, you have been a fantastic mentor to me on here and I really appreciate all the personal help you've given me on AR!  :-)

It's hard to say. I am ranked on  Google for the number one or number spot for such a wide variety of real estate-related terms. Look up any of these:

Land Park Homes Sacramento (although that seems to change daily)

interview real estate agent

short sale

buy foreclosure

lowball offer

real estate commissions

I could go on and on. I write meta titles well, meta descriptions, I use keywords in my content, headers and link boxes. SEO works.

Elizabeth,

Feel free to say as much as you want, as I'm sure there are many other agent's who do not understand all this either.

meta title? meta descriptions?

keywords such as?

headers like?

and What is a "link box"?

See this is why I wrote this, these are things they don't teach you in real estate school. I'm self taught on the computer...I still don't really know how the link works either.

Thanks for the information you provide  :-)  Karen
