Moving ahead in the Real Estate Industry is not a simple thing, especially in Naples where there are literally thousands of Realtors, getting your name out there and marketing is not the same as it was years ago, back then you could simply take out a page in the local newspaper, send out mailing cards and that was it.
Getting leads was easier because everyone in your town knew you as the Realtor, there were only a few offices in town. However we still had to do something different to make ourselves stand out from the crowd. I have done some strange things, I once stood in a lake dressed in a perfectly good suit, water up to my chest, holding up a sign saying Waterfront Properties for Sale. It worked I made an impact and people remembered me, even if they did'nt get my name right they knew me as the guy standing in the lake.
These days the internet has almost totally taken over, our clients are online searching for homes, if you don't have a website, then it's going to be harder for you to get leads. It's important just as it was years ago that your website is eye catching, easy to use and makes people want to come back for more, plus it needs to be easy to remember, just like the guy in the lake.
Managing a site, is an ongoing chore, something that needs to be done regularly, a stagnant site will eventually be ignored by Google, so fresh content is important, I am not a computer geek, so keeping ahead of everything on my site can be time consuming, but it's a learning curve I am willing to climb in order to stay ahead, after all billboards are not allowed in Naples so that avenue is out of the window.
