Sedona

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Rankin Realty at Lake Powell, LLC

Ok, here it is, with more to follow in the next few weeks. I don't know if going to school 3.5 hours from home qualifies as traveling but it was a beautiful place to end up for Real Estate school. My Utah license was done in Salt Lake with a blizzard every other day, so the Arizona license experience is turning out much nicer!

On Sunday of last week there was a horrid blizzard in Flagstaff causing a 139 car pileup. Monday the storm was starting to clear out and while on my way to class in Sedona passed a High School and saw this shot

Sedona in the snow

On the way back to Lake Powell I passed through downtown Sedona on a chilly March evening...

How can you tell it's a tourist town? Gotta love the bus only parking sign!

Just gotta share this. I've yet to start posting pic's of where I live...

A couple of years ago I was driving home from Page, AZ to Big Water, Utah, a 17 mile trip we make almost every day for school and shopping. The road goes right by Lake Powell and specifically the view of Castle Rock (Mount Sinai in The Greatest Story Ever Told) My then 16 year old son says "Ma, we live in a National Geographic Magazine"

My youngest daughter and I started laughing, it's so true.

Six weeks later we are all in St. George, 2.5 hours from home, and while sitting in a dentist office my son picks up the newest National Geographic Magazine. Yup - you can guess what was on the cover - Lake Powell! The music from The Twilight Zone should have been playing.......

Heather-

89a looking north Sedona is by far my favorite, moody and very forboding sky makes this a very moving image.

Bryant - Thanks - that means a lot coming from a photographer. I've not yet mastered the "close up" work - next on list to start on :-) (oh yes, and not forget about Real Estate either!) JK.

Heather-

No problem keep up the great work, by the way thanks for the compliments on my San Diego work. I liked the way most of them turned out. The night beach scene you liked was a "color shift" effect produced from a 30 second exposure in almost complete darkness.
