Hawaiian Airlines Traffic Up in January

Air traffic can tell you a lot about the economy for island states like ours. It's not like the U.S. Mainland, where travelers can get to other states by hopping on a train or a bus, or driving for that matter. When air traffic is up, we know that some combination of business and leisure travel is improving. Tourism is probably more important to Hawaii than any other state, so leisure travel should be taken seriously when evaluating economic performance.
