Meet the Olympic Parents at Summit Sotheby’s

With the “Greatest Snow on Earth” right in our backyard, it’s no wonder that we have so many Winter Olympians competing at the Sochi Games—in fact a total of 35. However, what many may not know is that at Summit Sotheby’s, we have three proud parents of athletes competing at the Games. While their sons and daughters often bask in the spotlight, these parents are often the cheering section. So, who are these proud parents of these athletes and how are they are not only making their athletes successful, but Summit Sotheby’s as well?

Scott Webber – Julia Mancuso’s Stepfather

Scott Webber, is a partner in Summit Sotheby’s International Realty, and the President of Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty in Colorado. He is a third generation real estate professional with more than 35 years of broker management experience. He is responsible for and is closely involved in the daily operations of all aspects of the business.

His career includes 20 years with Coldwell Banker, along with NRT, Incorporated, considered the largest real estate brokerage company in the industry, where he served as Senior Vice President. He joined Sotheby’s International Realty in 2008 upon the acquisition of the Denver firm Fuller Town and Country Properties.

He also served as past president of the Salt Lake City Board of Realtors and a past director for the National Association of Realtors. He is a graduate of the University of Utah, and holds CRS, GRI, and CRB professional designations.

Outside of his real estate work, he is an avid, alpine skier, golfer, and private pilot. He speaks fluent German, and says he has a unique appreciation for the music of rock group U2.

 

Steve Kotsenburg — Sage Kotsenburg’s Father

In addition to his real estate sales experience, Steve has extensive experience in home construction. He has been building custom luxury homes for more than 25 years in resort areas including Ventura, California, Northern Idaho, and of course, Park City 

Of his real estate experience and style, he says that his affiliation with Sotheby’s International Realty has given him a wealth of unparalleled and unique services that lets him serve his clients locally, nationally, and internationally.

Steven lives the Park City lifestyle along with his wife, Carol Ann, and their children, Blaze, Sage, Jeremy, and Kirra. He and his family enjoy all sorts of activities including basketball, soccer, biking, skateboarding, and baseball. Of course, the favorite activity is snowboard that is now the No.1 passion of the entire family. 

 

Bill Ligety — Ted Ligety’s Father

Bill Ligety first arrived in Park City in 1965 during a search for a college out west. A transplant from Connecticut, he received bachelors and masters degrees in urban Planning from the University of Utah. He held the position of Park City Planning Director fro 1979 to 1986, where he is credited with helping the city maintain a high level of quality in public and private development.

Outside of real estate, he services on the Executive Council of the Utah Symphony and Opera’s Deer Valley Music Festival. He has also served on the boards of the Park City Historical Society, Park City Ski Education Foundation, the Utah Heritage Foundation, and the Utah Sailing Association.
