Remember the cartoon where the human is talking to the dog.  "Fido, I just vaccumed the couch.  It's nice and clean now so Fido I don't want you up on the couch."

What the dog hears, "Fido, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,blah, blah, blah,blah, blah, blah, Fido blah, blah, blah,blah, blah, blah."

Our consumers hear like this as well.  I find myself answering a question and noticing how they aren't listening.  Later, they prove my notion buy asking the same question again.

I try to handle this by answering the question in a different manner, using an example of a real life situation.  It's a simple method, but it seems to work.
