Home values in the 20905 zip-code of Silver Spring, MD have improved a great deal in 2013.

While we didn't see much improvement the year before (which was still good news then as it was a sign of the market stabilizing), in 2013 the average sales price rose to $463,353.

Compared to the height of the market, we still have a ways to go but it is good news for home owners in 20905 Silver Spring nonetheless. The average SOLD price increased by more than 10% in 2013.

Interestingly enough, we haven't seen a big variation in the number of homes sold in 20905 over the last 3 years. When the sales pace holds steady but prices are increasing, it is a sure sign of increased buyer confidence and buyer traffic. Again, that is great news for home owners in 20905 Silver Spring.

Was 2005 the best year in your market?  2007 was locally.  Looks like you're having a nice recovery.

Hi Tammy, average sales price went higher (above the 600K in the 20905 zip-code) in 2006 and 2007 but it wasn't the case everywhere. 06 was the first year where you could see the change - sales volume down, triple the time on market - the market slowed noticeably in 2007. The higher average sales price in this zip-code was largely due to a number of high-end sales which has been slower to catch up now.

Thank you David.

My pleasure Bruce. I like to spread good news
