Getting Good Advice is Priceless…
It’s always nice getting advice when you are just starting out in business. When I first got into the buying/selling home business, I’ll never forget being pulled aside by a top agent in my office. He said, “kid” let me give you some good advice “if/ when” you get a listing, you have to treat it like gold” Then he looked me straight in the eye and said with a smile “never forget today” Of course it went way over my head as I smiled back and said “thank you”
Looking back at it now, the advice he gave to me that day was so simple but so effective, I understood the first bit of advice he gave, but I was not sure about what he meant when he said; “never forget today” at the time I remember thinking he was just kidding around.
I wish he were alive today, I would love to have him elaborate more about what he meant, although, I have a feeling I know exactly what he meant when he told me “never forget today” I have a feeling he was telling me “today is a gift, make the most of it” If I am right he was telling me “don’t take today lightly”
Obviously, I will never know for sure if that is what he meant, but I am pretty certain the encouragement he gave me was valuable and true, not sarcasm. I also feel that his advice applies to life in general and that whatever it is we do in life “we have to make it count” and I feel that if we’re able to make the most of each day, then we make that day unforgettable.
