Located in the West San Fernando Valley between the cities of Canoga Park to the West and Reseda to the East, we find the Pierce College Campus, home of the Pierce College Farm and Farmers Market.
Pierce College is comprised of approximately 420 acres of rolling hills and flat land, 200 acres of which is devoted to teaching agriculture. In addition to being an Agriculture students’ haven, you can visit the farm and get your exercise jogging or walking the hills, or you can just go there for the feeling of being closer to nature and the animals. There is a beautiful 15 acre nature center that the Pierce College curriculum uses in both their agriculture and life science department courses that visitors can also enjoy.
The Pierce College farm houses small herds of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, a small poultry flock, as well as a llama and an alpaca for its Agriculture students to learn from and for families to just come to visit and have a day of fun. Approximately four hundred and fifty head of cattle, 250 head of sheep, 250 of swine, and 6,000 poultry make up the livestock portion of the Pierce College Farm.
In addition to the farm, there is a Farmers Market on the grounds, where you can purchase “fresh from the farm” produce, fruits, and vegetables. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that you can help yourself to free samples, such as fresh, sweet, strawberries, grapes, and even honey. 
Pierce College Farm also has attractions and rides the entire family can enjoy. The pony rides attraction is especially fun for the children. After riding a pony, be sure to visit the attractions where you can learn how to milk a cow, see an ostrich, or ride the train and the merry go around.
If you are in the mood for something to eat, there are food trucks, specializing in funnel cakes and other treats. And during the summer, the Pierce College Farm hosts free summer nights movie series on Friday nights.
