Pleasanton CA is located in the Tri-Valley area of California and is one of the largest cities on the east side of the mountains from the bay area. There are many great touristy things to do and a lot of local favorites. Here is a great mix of both if you’re looking to get out there this weekend and have a little fun.

Outdoors –

There are three golf courses in the area; Callippe, Castlewood Country Club and Pleasanton Golf Center. The golf center features a great beginners course with things to do in Pleasanton CAperfect facilities to lean and grow. With greens, club fittings and a pro shop, this 9-hole course has everything to get you started. The Callippe Course, located  at 8500 Clubhouse Dr. features events, membership, a restaurant and pleasant environment. The Castlewood Country Club features everything from a clubhouse to tennis to golf and private events. This is where members and their families play, relax and rejuvenate. This is a family club, which means that when you become a member, your family, spouse, significant other and school age children living at home also are members and enjoy all the amenities of the club.

There are also dozens of parks and recreational facilities throughout Pleasanton, so make sure you check with the local rec. dept for news and updates.

Indoor/Outdoor -

If wineries are your thing you have to check out Ruby Hill Winery and Rubino Estates, formerly Mitchell Katz Winery.  These three wineries are prized in the area and offer something a little unique. Ruby Hill is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor offering easy access, comforting wine selections and great service. They are open daily from 11am to 5:30pm and offer tours, tasting menus, a wine club and a relaxing Things to do in Pleasanton, CAlocation.   Rubino is located closer to Livermore and is open from 12:00 to 5PM daily.

Indoors –

Museum on Main offers a different taste of Pleasanton life. With unique collections and revolving displays there is always something to see and lean at the Museum on Main.

Downtown Pleasanton is always bursting with local fairs, parties and farmers market. Whether it’s a pub crawl or street fair, Pleasanton knows how to keep it’s locals and guests happy year round

You can always check with Groupon and Living Social in the Pleasanton area for deals, events and things to see and do that you may not have known about. Plus you can always gather the family up and head out for a day of Geo-Caching; tracking treasures and hidden containers throughout the area by use of a GPS.
