Think Spring!

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Lancaster PA RS134746A

Spring arrived yesterday!  The vernal equinox is here.  It didn't feel like Spring yesterday, what with the cold winds and temperatures in the 30s.  Today in Lancaster County, PA the day started in the 30s as well - but it warmed up and the sun is out!

Buyers, who may have been hibernating for the winter, have been timidly emerging from their caves and testing the housing waters again.

Spring is a time for rebirth.  It's always been my favorite season.  You can actually smell the difference in the air.  There's an excitement, a feeling of possibilities, an energy that seems to return to both our surroundings and to ourselves.

Today is Good Friday.  I have a feeling that new and positive things are going to be in store for us in the coming real estate season.  I'm motivated to work hard and help to make those good things happen.  But not this weekend.  This weekend I'm going to quietly appreciate the Spring weather and the greening of the grass.  To all my friends who read and contribute to Active Rain, I wish a happy and peaceful Easter.

Brian,

Great optimism. You're right!  Sounds like the same weather we have in Washington State.

Hi, Sonja,

I guess that those of us who have colder winters have a greater appreciation for the warmer spring weather!  Thanks for stopping by.

I'm glad it brought back pleasant memories, Alan.  My favorite was actually the tulips - I always thought they were the prettiest flowers, and they come in such a variety of shapes and colors.

I've yet to experience a Pennsylvania spring... but if it's anything like the autumns there... well- it's almost heaven. I have very fond memories of seeing the trees turn color- it's something we don't get so much in Arizona.

Gita, I'm looking forward to the spring real estate season - but my real excitement and rejuvenation comes from spring itself!

Chuck, every season in Pennsylvania is totally different.  Autumn is a beautiful season, too, with its own look and smells.  Spring looks and smells fresh.  You can almost smell the sunshine!  That fresh smell fades away with the heat of summer.  And I have no particular use for winter at all (not being a skiier).

We didn't think it felt like spring here either, for the last week of March we were getting snow everyday. We haven't had that happen in years and they actually had to extend the deadline to remove our studded tires from our car.

Todd, in PA studded tires are apparently allowed until April 15, but I don't know how popular they are any more.  They chew up the pavement, plus modern all-weather tires are a lot more effective than they used to be.  Anyway, the weather here has been in the 50s recently!
