Winter Park is home to one of the new train stops for Central Florida's SunRail commuter rail line. On Monday, March 3, 2014, the city will celebrate the grand opening of its newest train station in partnership with Amtrak, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Winter Park SunRail Station Grand Opening

The ceremony for the Winter Park SunRail Station Grand Opening begins at 10:30am at the station located at 148 W. Morse Blvd. A brief program will be held featuring Winter Park Mayor Ken Bradley, U.S. Congressman John Mica, Amtrak Southern Division General Superintendent Tom Kirk, FDOT Director of Transportation Development Frank O'Dea and ACi Architecture Design Partner John Cunningham. Attendees will be able to tour the station and SunRail train immediately after the program. SunRail team members will be present to answer any questions regarding the Winter Park SunRail Station Grand Opening.

This station will serve passengers on both Amtrak and SunRail lines. The $1.3 billion commuter rail is estimated to generate $8.8 billion in area economic impact. Transit-oriented development is known to create jobs and millions of dollars of construction work in the region.
