You take an important or mundane task and assign it out to someone else to get done. In effect, that person is representing you in the operation or event and reports back as instructed. It is not an assignment of accountability or responsibility but more like a helping hand

GROWTH

Having someone you can trust to get done what needs to be done so that you are freed up is valuable and a good tool to have in an operation that is growing. WHY? It allows you to take on more growth responsibilities that help grow the business and keep everyone busy

FINDING GOOD HELP

This is where many people meet up with the old cliche..."good help is hard to find". In order for delegating to work properly, one has to find someone, train them in and become responsible for them until the representative is running mostly on their own. This can take time & money

ARE YOU COMPLETELY FREED?

That's why experience counts as a plus when considering hiring someone. That means they can hit the ground running sooner when hired giving an advantage or quicker return on the concept. The main strength of the concept is knowing that this person will get done whatever they are told and you have to trust and believe that they will. Only then are you truly free and the concept is fully working.

OUTSOURCING...medical

Another approach to the concept would be to outsource. Doctors used to have a microscopes and mini-labs in their offices as part of their treatment procedures. At some point, stand alone laboratories where created to handle that responsibility allowing doctors to outsource and spend more time for their patients and their business

OUTSOURCING...legal

Attorneys used to do their own paperwork, phone calls, interviews and court appearances keeping them running at full speed but not allowing enough free time to take on new clients or maximize their abilities. Para-legals and legal secretaries were born allowing attorneys to consult and make more court appearances

OUTSOURCING...real estate

In Real Estate offices, the Broker was to do it all in the start-up operations. Keeping records, supervising activities, phones, details galore, and trying to generate business kept a full schedule going. That led to office managers & transaction coordinators being introduced allowing the Brokers time to coach, canvass and market more to generate steadier business

HELPS BETTER, FASTER & CHEAPER KICK IN

Delegating and outsourcing if done correctly makes an operation stand up and move with a purpose, keep current and generate predictable results. They incorporate methods, procedures and reliable programs designed to help the consumer get the best possible outcome

IT LOOKS GOOD WHEN UP AND RUNNING

This concept is a cornerstone of many successful operations. Consumers, clients, customers and principals look for it and assess when they are in need of your services or products

I am really bad about delegating because I don't trust anyone like I trust  myself. But one sometimes has to learn to let go.
