I've been on ActiveRain now for five months, and I have made a few observations...
I noticed that some of the Realtors on AR refer to us as staggers!
Now, there are three definitions:
1. An unsteady movement of the body
2. A disease of animals causing them to fall down
3. Bewilderment
It occurred to me that there is a fourth, though I couldn't find it in the dictionary:
4. Someone who frequents bachelor parties
Who comes up with the security graphic words?
I'm pretty much convinced that there is a room of children somewhere and some adult is writing down everything they say. How else can you explain little gems like "farkleberry" or "cupu-assu"? And why is it that whenever I am hungry, invariably some type of food comes up?
How come the blog spell check doesn't like the word blog?
Isn't that kind of like a stamp that will stick to everything except an envelope?
Don't you feel like your post should go on hold while you type a response to comments?
How many times have you finished responding to the eight people who commented, just to see that another eight comments showed up while you were typing? And you have to hurry and respond so it doesn't look like you have slighted them!
And have you ever read a post that is so close to one that you wrote, but no one but you seems to notice, which makes you think that no one read yours and for some reason this person is more popular?
Of course, this has never happened to me. But, I'm sure it's happened to someone.
And have you ever read a post and thought "Jeez, this is lame" just to check back later and see that it has been featured and there are 150 comments?
This, too, is hypothetical.
And last, but not least, where did they come up with the name Active Rain?
I tell people about it, and they say "Huh? What's it called?" I really think there would be more members if it had a name like "Real Estate Network" . So, was that taken, or what?
