Did I tell you my lovely wife just turned 49? Oops! Wait a minute. "Yes dear?" "#**&*%#@ *&%$@" "Uh ok." Did I tell you my lovely, exceptionally smart wife just turned "plenty nine"?

My wife and I started out in this business together 12 years ago and worked hand in hand opening Tutas Towne Realty, Inc in 1998. It just got me thinking how important it is to have support from your spouse in this business. Sometimes, our working hours can be a little over the top, and our family may suffer because of it. My wife has been retired now for about 5 years, but having her by my side for support and a word of encouragement, when needed, has made a tremendous difference.

Knowing that she trust my decisions and stands by me when things get tough, is very reassuring. So I just wanted to remind everybody, that if you have a significant other in your life, take a few minutes from your day, every day, and let them know how much you appreciate their support. So here goes. Thanks honey for putting up with my arrogant, egotistical and sometimes ranting behavior. And, I hear Dillard's has a sale today. Here's the debit card go have fun.

I know I'm going to get smacked for the picture. So this could be my last post. It's been nice knowing ya!!

It is important to alway remember our support system behind the scenes.  And a person's most important basic need is to feel appreciated.

Bryant, my wife has a "No Questions Asked" Debit Account at the bank for that very reason you mentioned.  Since we live in Marion, Iowa now, she does however miss the Dillard's store where we used to live in Austin, Texas.  Oh well, I guess you can't have everything.

At least you didn't say over the hill instead of under the hill and the picture well shame on you...she must have a great sense of humor and her response shows at least she cares enough to read what you are writing.  Next year add something in a nice red box from redevelope.com along with the credit card...they have some interesting gifts.

Happy Birthday, Lovely Wife. You have only one year to go - life starts at 50, when you really start having fun and doing what you want, not just what's expected of you - but I think you and Bryant have been doing that for a long time.  I really enjoy your comments on Bryant's comments.  Happy shopping!

I have heard it said that "passion is where you spend your time, energy, and money."

Real estate can be very draining, time-consuming, and expensive to keep going. If we plan to have our families give us encouragement and support, we must make time to give them the same. It can be very hard for families and spouses to be supportive when we let our schedules control our lives.

Sometimes perspective is in order.

Congrats to Bryant and his lovely and gracious wife.
