Alexandria La Celebrates Mardi Gras
Looking for something to do in Alexandria La? For a small window in late Winter, Louisiana comes together for one giant party. Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday" is an all out celebration prior to lent (a time when the faithful give up something they enjoy). Each city puts its unique twist on the celebration, Alexandria is no exception.
Can you party without a band? Of course, but why would you? high school and college bands take great pride in their participation. Every seen a tuba player dance? I have. Come to Alexandria La and celebrate Mardi Gras. The bands will have you dancing in the streets. Maybe with someone you know, maybe with someone you don't know.
Alexandria La Mardi Gras encourages participation from the entire family. My daughter is an expert at the sad face for beads. We came away with a full bag, plus what she wore home. In this part of the country float sponsors will throw stuff animals, T-Shirts, candy, and of course beads. Want an insider tip? Sit near the end of the parade route. Float riders always conserve supply until the end. If you are the end, guess what happens??
