Great photos for inspiration. I have a covered deck and would love to make it feel more like an extended living space. We just don't take full advantage of it. Maybe we'll do a "remodel" with some new furniture this Spring/Summer season!

Super photos supporting your post, Kent. Couldn't agree with you more. Lived a few years on Oahu while attending the University of Hawaii, Manoa - a hop, a skip, and a jump over the Waikiki Ala Wai Canal. Believe me, your photos were like going back into my memories. From the UHM library's long and open lanai, one could touch Diamond Head or surf on Waikiki Beach. At least that was the way I felt every time I looked up from my books. We can do the same with many of our homes - reach out and touch nature.
