If you're afraid there isn't enough to do in Springfield, MO on any given night, I'm here to tell you that you have nothing to be afraid of. Downtown has so much to offer. From great places eat to awesome late night specials, you'll never get bored. The one thing I love most about downtown is that no matter what night of the week it is, you can always find an affordable place to go.
My wife is a graduate student at Missouri State University and Thursday night seems to be our night to go out and stay out a little bit late. Why Thursday? I guess the life of a real estate agent and a graduate student doesn't constitute an actual weekend, I think weekends are actually busier than weekdays, so Thursday is our designated night.
Do you guys remember the very first Bachelor, Aaron Buerge? He owned a restuarant in Springfield named Trolley's. I think they have changed names about a dozen times since he owned it but it is now back to Trolley's and it costs you next to nothing to get a drink and an appetizer there on a Thursday night. It's a great reason to head downtown, without having to spend the late night covers and for expensive food.
If you just want to grab a drink with friends after work, Patton Alley Pub has happy hour Monday through Friday from 5 to 6pm and 10 pm to close AND all day on Sunday. They have ridiculously cheap drinks at a price anyone could afford.
Springfield isn't all about happy hour and late night specials though, there are great date night places like Nonna's Italian American Cafe or Maria's Mexican Restaurant. Oh, don't forget to stop downtown for a late night snack at Hurt's Donut Company!
Don't be afraid of being bored in Springfield, MO because there is always something to do!
