“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for The Jews, but I was not a Jew, so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak for me.”
The above is a quote by MARTIN NIEMOLLER,
a Lutheran Pastor who died in 1984, but during his lifetime he once was anti-communist, supported Adolph Hitler before WWII, and finally, after WWII, became a leader of the Evangelical Church in Germany.
Pastor Niemoller finally saw the light and became a member of The World Peace movement...!!!
After reading these words in a booklet of LENTEN REFLECTIONS, I was moved to read PSALM 62, which then led me to Youtube and JOHN MICHAEL TALBOT’s rendition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAiGAyp22JI Please take a few minutes and watch and listen.......
Then, finally I was led to a reading from 1 Pet 3:15-17: ‘Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.’
As for me, I choose to follow HIM.......MAY THIS LENT LEAD ME CLOSER TO HIM.......FOR HE IS TRULY THE ANSWER...!!!
HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED WEEKEND...!!!
