I use Word and Excel to make my charts for my monthly market updates and I used it to make my pie chart I'm going to use when I do my post for Sally's contest this month.
Open a new document in word and Click on the insert tab, then click on chart
When you click on chart the following pops up:
For Pie chart you have several options as seen on the popup window and you make your selection and click okay
You know have the templete to work with to make your pie chart. You can change to as many "slices" of pie was you want by simply draging the window to that selection on the excel data window that pops up on the right.
When I do my charts for my market reports I simply saved the finished product as a .jpg file via snipit screen shot and then insert the same as I would a photo into my post.
This is a column chart done by this same method. I have "filled" the background with a lake photo and the years I have done market reports for are detailed by color of the column.
Anyone wishing to use a pie chart or a column chart with word document and excel can give me a call and I'd be happy to set aside a few minutes to help you get started over the phone. It's been really easy for me to save each month and then edit my data as I go through the year with my market reports. It really is easy once you get started.
